Meet the Team
Dr Taff Hughes
Taff Hughes has been working in a rural setting for 31 years. Though trained as a Specialist Anaesthetist, he started life in GP training with a view to working in rural practice. His early years in the Shoalhaven were much more of a Hospital Generalist role than a modern-day Anaesthetist. Taff is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education with University of Wollongong. He uses his extensive experience to create innovative real-world simulation scenarios. Both his work & simulation experience gave him the impetus to adapt ALS/BLS training to better fit GPs in rural practice. GPs know the reality is that they will need to rely on their practice staff in times of crisis. For Registrars, his courses will tick all the boxes required for their RACGP or ACRRM training requirements but will also touch on the realities of a GP practice team approach. For GPs already in practice, his courses are about whole of practice training.
